Mariusz has presented his paper "Strongmen, Boxers and Their Followers. Performing Masculinity and Polish-Jewish Popular Classes in the 1920s and 1930s” at the Gender History Seminar at the University of Warsaw. Paul Lerner (USC Los Angeles) has served as the respondent.

Mariusz Kałczewiak has won the Postdoc Network Brandenburg Individual Research Grant. The funding is provided by the Brandenburg Ministry of Science and offered to excellent scholars from all disciplines. The grant involves a two-year research position at the University of Potsdam.
Mariusz Kałczewiak will present his research project on Jewish masculinities in Poland at the turn of the 20th century at the August meeting of the research group Queer and Gender Studies in the Slavic Context.
